The Tie Fighter Boat

The Tie Fighter Boat

A Swiss Company called Code X has designed a 47′7″ catamaran that oddly looks like a streamlined version of the Star Wars’ tie fighters. Code X attempts to combine the bravado of a futuristic look with smooth and sharp angles while maintaining quality cutting edge technology,.

The Code X can either cruise through the water at a quick 80 knots with twin Ilmor Formula One engines powered by 710 HP a piece or it can move along at a calm 9 knots by twin electric motors. The lithium batteries last up to two hours and can be charged by the onboard solar panals.

The yacht also boasts touch screen control and GPS controlled anchor system that utilizes the boats’ electric motors to remain in a stationary position regardless of currents and wind, sans a physical anchor.

When we become supervillians here at CityofSkies.com, we will buy this boat. [via]

Pardon my geekiness, but I think it actually looks more like an A-Wing than a TIE Fighter.
